Surrender30, Brain Paper, and Pilates Obsessions

A good friend and I have put together a 30 day personal growth challenge called Surrender30. Each day’s challenge is designed to put you just a little bit outside of your comfort zone with the goal of giving you added presence and a new perspective.

I.

Something I wish I started earlier: Reading books.

I know—mind blowing right?

Even if you read just one book a year, you’re ahead of the majority of the population.

If you knew you could gain a competitive edge by reading just one book a year, why wouldn’t you do it?

 

II.

If you follow me on instagram, you probably know that I’m a big believer in fitness as a core pillar of human success.

In my opinion, fitness is the best discipline muscle there is.

With no discipline, it’s easy to take the day off.

Don’t feel like working out? Ah I’ll do it tomorrow.

Don’t feel like going for a run? Same thing.

One hack I’ll share, and I can’t stress this enough, is to find fitness you love.

I look at it like reading.

Maybe you hate reading non-fiction, but you discover you love reading Sci-Fi.

In fact you love it so much that you can’t stop reading.

Well, the same goes for fitness.

Not everyone likes lifting, not everyone likes yoga, not everyone likes basketball.

Just like anything in life.

My mom hadn’t worked out in a very long time.

She recently picked up pilates—and BOOM.

She just sent me a picture this morning of a pair of socks that say “100” on them.

Her pilates studio gifted her socks for completing her 100th class.

Find what you love and let obsession play it’s part.

“Help people when they need help, not when you are ready to help them.”
