Too many of us find ourselves thinking about what happened yesterday, or what might happen tomorrow.
Remember that the concept of time was invented by humans.
Be still.
1. Feel your emotions
Don’t try to distract yourself from negative emotions.
Take the time to feel them, understand them, and be at peace with them.
Having the ability to feel is a beautiful thing in itself.
Embrace your emotions.
2. Let go
Stop worrying about things that are out of your control.
Have you ever seen a frantic dog resisting its owners control?
Over time, the dog gets tired and enters a zen state.
Find that zen state.
3. Notice your surroundings
Some of life’s most beautiful moments are right in front of us.
The sound of birds chirping, the feel of a soft breeze, the smell of your favorite meal.
Soak in these moments.
4. Stop multi-tasking
Society has convinced us that we can always be doing more.
Studies show that we are much more productive when we focus on a singular task.
Less is more.
5. Be grateful
Don’t hinge your happiness on a future moment that isn’t guaranteed.
Tomorrow and the day after that are not promised.
Be thankful for what you have today.
